10hrs of Sport
A annual fundraiser that is organised by a number of schools across Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. The event is continuing to grow at an amazing rate. The 10 hour challenge requires participants to arrive at the school (each schools are slightly different) at 7am and complete a range of different sports for 10 straight hours.
The date for the 2024, 10 hours of Sport is Friday 26th April.
Having been unable to run the event in 2020 and 2021, We returned in 2022 and hope to even bigger and better in 2024
We would love to have as many schools involved from across the country.
Join in, have fun, raise money, make a difference!
12 hours of Sport 2022
Our sixth 12 hours of sport took place on Friday 18th March. After the last two events were cancelled it was brilliant to be able to return to the event en masse.
This year for a number of reasons we didn’t manage to grow the event beyond the 6 schools that participated in 2019. We are incredibly thankful though to Ken Stimpson Community School, Ely College and Littleport & East Cambs Academy. Between the 3 schools around 325 students took part and £6500 was raised for the Foundation.
The day is a brilliant high energy day; getting back to normal was exhilarating, exhausting, rewarding and most importantly loads of fun. Thank you to everyone that took part.

On Friday 6th December, Ken Stimpson Community School hosted its third annual 12 hours of sport. This year the event attracted 133 students from years 7, 8 & 9. The 10 hour challenge requires participants to arrive at the school at 7am and complete a range of different sports for 12 straight hours. The events included trampolining, badminton, dodgeball, basketball and football. The students at KSCS through their sports marathon managed to raise an amazing amazing £2700 for The Malcolm Whales Foundation.

On Friday 14th December a record 126 Ken Stimpson students took part in the annual 12 hours of sport. The event challenges both the student’s energy and effort levels as they participate in a range of different sports activities. Each year the event supports The Malcolm Whales Foundation, a local charity that raises money for children’s cancer. The Foundation was founded in memory of Malcolm Whales, father to Damien Whales a teacher at KSCS. Malcolm lost his fight with bowel cancer in 2008 at the age of 55. Since his death the charity now runs a number of events for secondary students and has raised £180,000 for cancer related causes.

The 2017 12 hours of sport was hosted by two schools – Ely College and Ken Stimpson Peterborough. Both events were a massive success with nearly 200 students taking part. This year we took the decision to donate Christmas presents to Peterborough Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital. As we have previously, we ensured that the student were involved from start to finish.

This year saw two schools take part in the 12 hours of sport – Ely College and Rushden Academy. Well done to both staff and students from Rushden Academy and Ely College. Your efforts today have been amazing and have raised an incredible £2600. That money will be spent to make a difference to young people who have unfortunately been affected by cancer.

On the 30 November, students from Ely College took part in the 12 Hours of Sport event. With a range of activities available, more than 90 students participated with the aim to raise money for the Malcolm Whales Foundation. Following another successful sponsored walk in the summer which involved nearly 100 students from 4 different schools, Mr Whales showcased the 12 Hours of Sport after its popular turnout last year. The sports hall was filled with a variety of activities, including dance mats, table tennis, badminton and trampolines.
