10hrs of Sport
An amazing annual fundraiser that is organised by a number of schools currently across Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. The event is continuing to grow at an amazing rate. The 10 hour challenge requires participants to arrive at the school at 7am and complete a range of different sports for 10 straight hours.
Students participate in a complete range sports from Basketball, Trampolining, Football, Dodgeball and everything a school can deliver.
Enabling Key Stage 3 students to play sport for a marathon 10 hours, whilst raising money for children and families impacted by cancer is what makes the event so special.

The 10 hours of sport took place in the new Spring format. We moved from the usual December format to increase the likelihood of better weather, and for the longer days.
That obviously led to the postponement as it was snowing, freezing and dark. Bravely though Hampton Gardens continued with their original date and managed to succeed with their debut in the event. Ken Stimpson and Ely College postponed to after Easter.

12 hours of Sport 2022
Our sixth 12 hours of sport took place on Friday 18th March. After the last two events were cancelled it was brilliant to be able to return to the event en masse.
This year for a number of reasons we didn’t manage to grow the event beyond the 6 schools that participated in 2019. We are incredibly thankful though to Ken Stimpson Community School, Ely College and Littleport & East Cambs Academy. Between the 3 schools around 325 students took part and £6500 was raised for the Foundation.
The day is a brilliant high energy day; getting back to normal was exhilarating, exhausting, rewarding and most importantly loads of fun. Thank you to everyone that took part.

On Friday 14th December a record 126 Ken Stimpson students took part in the annual 12 hours of sport. The event challenges both the student’s energy and effort levels as they participate in a range of different sports activities. Each year the event supports The Malcolm Whales Foundation, a local charity that raises money for children’s cancer. The Foundation was founded in memory of Malcolm Whales, father to Damien Whales a teacher at KSCS. Malcolm lost his fight with bowel cancer in 2008 at the age of 55. Since his death the charity now runs a number of events for secondary students and has raised £180,000 for cancer related causes.

The 2017 12 hours of sport was hosted by two schools – Ely College and Ken Stimpson Peterborough. Both events were a massive success with nearly 200 students taking part. This year we took the decision to donate Christmas presents to Peterborough Hospital and Addenbrookes Hospital. As we have previously, we ensured that the student were involved from start to finish.

This year saw two schools take part in the 12 hours of sport – Ely College and Rushden Academy. Well done to both staff and students from Rushden Academy and Ely College. Your efforts today have been amazing and have raised an incredible £2600. That money will be spent to make a difference to young people who have unfortunately been affected by cancer.

On the 30 November, students from Ely College took part in the 12 Hours of Sport event. The sports hall was filled with a variety of activities, including dance mats, table tennis, badminton and trampolines.
