Wing Walking for TMWF

On Saturday 26th September 2026 we are organising the first Wing Walk for TMWF! A chance for the more daring amongst our supporters to try something a little bit different.

Whilst not strictly Taking Steps for Cancer, this is a great chance for a bit of fundraising fun and is set to be a great day for all involved.

We are now fully booked!

The Fine Print

To participate as a wing walker during a wing walking experience, the participant must meet the following
criteria:

  • All participants must be aged 18 years or over (there is no maximum age)
  • Participants must not exceed the weight limit of 14.28 stone / 90.7 kg (including your clothing worn on the day)
  • Participants must be no taller than 6ft 2” / 188 cm (exceptions may be possible on a case-by-case basis)
  • Participants must be no shorter than 4ft 2” / 127 cm (exceptions may be possible on a case-by-case basis)
  • Participants must be able to climb unassisted up to and down from the top wing of the Boeing Stearman biplane. Steps and a step-up board may be provided (subject to availability) to assist you, as well as guidance and direction from the Dare Crew. An equivalent would be being able to climb up a short ladder into a loft space
  • Participants must be able to withstand strong relative wind pressures experienced while flying at speeds of up to 135mph. Speeds vary throughout the flight but are typically between 70mph & 100mph. If you become uncomfortable during the flight, you will be instructed in the briefing to give the pilot a ‘thumbs down’ signal, at which point they will slow the aircraft down and return to the airfield for a landing as soon as it is safe to do so.
  • Participants must be able to comprehend and follow instructions given in English
