Wheels for McKenzie

Thanks to your fundraising efforts and support we were able to donate £1000 to Wheels for McKenzie.

A piece from the GoFundMe page:

This is my niece Sinead and her son McKenzie, she is the bravest person I know, let me explain:

She is the proud mother of 3, 2 girls and a boy. She lost her husband a year after marriage, her son McKenzie was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy her 2 girls also have ADHD, yet she manages and asks for very little her children are her life. I’m sure you have heard someone saying that many times.

Over the last year and a bit McKenzie has lost more and more of his mobility, to the extent that he now needs a wheelchair upgrade. Sinead would like to get him one that will not limit him to paths and grass. It would be nice for him to get one that will go on any surface like sand and gravel, this will allow him to rejoin his family on their outings which he has been unable to do in the last year.

The only thing he wants is to be able to join in with his friends and live as normal a life as is possible. Any help towards this goal no matter how small will make a difference to this young family. His mummy and his sisters try to make lots of memories with him so try to go somewhere every week, this is not always possible as pushing his current wheelchair on grass is very difficult. People with this devastating illness do not live to a grand old age and we will do our best to make his life with us as easy and fun as we can.
